I love to delight people by creating splendid foods to savor and enjoy. A member of the American Personal & Private Chef Association and certified by Applied Food Service Sanitation, I have been in the culinary field since 1975 and have had many opportunities to hone my craft. Additionally, from dinners and special events for Lee Iacocca, Kenny G. and Barbara Mandrell to being the private chef for Ranken Smith, Sr. and Dr. George Brumley and their families for a number of years, I have had the great pleasure of meeting outstanding people and building wonderful relationships.
Every party I do is designed for each individual client and the specific event they want to celebrate. I want each party I do to be a memorable event. I make everything from scratch and use organic foods whenever possible. I prepare your meal freshly onsite and serve each course at the peak of flavor.
Over the years I have assembled a great team of chefs, entrepreneurs, event planners and decorators who will take your special event from concept to reality.
Winemaker Karen Van der Vort
Wine grower and winemaker, recognized for her work with various wineries such as Chateau St. Jean, DeLoach Vineyards and Winery, Mark West Wines (with her mentor Larry Wara), Cilurzo Vineyard and Winery, and her own Van der Vort Estates, Karen has won numerous awards and medals in California including an International Sweepstakes for a 1995 Petite Sirah Nouveau.
In 1999 Karen and the late Julia Child were inducted into the California Women for WineSense Hall of Fame for exceptional contributions to the enjoyment of wine.
She has been interviewed by assorted media including CNN Worldwide and several local news networks as an expert in organic growing techniques in the vineyard. She’s also been featured on “Wine Talk”, a weekly Palm Springs radio show.
In creating The Ultimate Wine Experience and Savor the Experience, Karen brings her passion and love for wine to her guests on a more personal level through Wine Tastings, Wine Receptions and Wine Pairings with Chef Ed Fluck.
